Welcome to Kennedy's web page. We have provided this as a way to stay in contact with our friends and family and keep them updated on Kennedy's fight with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Pre-B High Risk).

Kennedy was diagnosed on Monday, May 9, 2005 with 200k white blood cells (50k is high risk and normal is 10k-12k) and with large clusters of leukemia cells in her lymphnodes, spleen, kidneys, liver and chest. Within a week, she was below 25k and the clusters in her body were quickly breaking up. She was in clinical remission by Day 15 but had a very small percentage of minimal residual disease (less than 1%) on Day 30. She will be receiving intensive treatments until April 2006 as a slow early responder and will be in maintenance treatment for an additional two years.

Where there's life, there's hope.

Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway.
John Wayne

Do you know what hope is?
It's not a prescription. It punctuates our laughter. It simmers under sorrows.

Do you know what hope is?
It's dreaming of tomorrow. It's pushing past the impossible. It's questioning the answer. It's rumors of a break, a roller coaster ride.

Do you know what hope is?
It's perfume for the spirit. Take my hand...come...it's magic and it's free. It's not in an IV. It sparkles in our tears. It disputes our fears. It's reaching past today. It's trying a new way. It's pounding on the door. It's always seeking more. It whispers a cure, of remedies unsure. It's candy for the soul.

To share it makes you whole. Let's share the hope together.
